Spray Foam Insulation

Why should I put spray foam insulation in my home?

Spray Foam is one of the most efficient insulators on the market today. Once applied the foam expands to create an airtight seal that is able to fill in almost any crack or crevice of your home, preventing heat from escaping. Midwest's 2 lb. closed-cell spray foam insulation has an R-value of 7 per inch - Making it is twice as efficient as traditional insulators.  With as little as 3" of closed-cell foam you are able to reduce your heat loss by 95%.

In addition to the thermal benefits, spray foam will also protect your structure from moisture and mold. The air-barrier created by the seal will keep unwanted pockets of moisture and condensation from resting on the frame of your home or buildings. This extra layer of protection will increase the value and longevity of your home while saving you money on energy costs.

When can I have spray foam insulation installed?

It is best to install during the initial build process, during a remodel, or an addition. When considering build costs it is important to make the initial investment into your home's insulation and avoid future costs. Like other mechanicals in your home, they are not easily or cheaply replaced. When installed by an expert, spray foam is able to weather the elements for a lifetime. You can rest warm and easy knowing your insulation will almost never need to be replaced.

Is spray foam insulation expensive?

The upfront cost of spray foam generally exceeds most other methods of insulation. However, with the increased R-value and decreased air penetration, your home will save energy resulting in lower energy bills. Spray foam typically takes 4-7 years of energy savings to recover the costs of installation. The added protection and efficacy can lead to an increase in your home's value.
